"Theft is unavoidable. Why not optimise it?"

POST A DISCOVERY SEARCH NEARBY DISCOVERIES

Technology exists to streamline our lives, in every aspect. Humanity has taken a crack at almost everything. So why haven’t we optimized theft? As careful as we act, or as many crime prevention initiatives we implement, theft will still occur, and it will always occur. At Ransom, our goal is to make the best of a bad situation. An astonishing 96.7% of thefts realize some level of inefficiency. In general, stolen items are more valuable to the owner than the thief. Additionally, items of high utility to the victim are often taken unintentionally because they are bundled with items of high monetary value thieves pursue. Ransom provides a simple, secure platform for thieves (discoverers) and victims (seekers) to mutually benefit. Seekers reunite with their 'low-value' items of high personal utility by compensating discoverers, who in turn profit from these items that would normally end up in a trash bin. It’s a classic win-win.

"Two years ago, I was held up at gunpoint, and my backpack was stolen. Not only did I lose my wallet, computer, and Beats headphones, I lost countless other things priceless to me: my extensive fidget spinner collection, my cousin Minty's ashes, and most tragically, the only existing copy of a manuscript I've poured the last 6 years of my life into, a musical titled "The Bully of the Opera". I almost ended my life that night. But then a friend told me about Ransom. Through Ransom, I was able to connect with my mugger, and got back the things most important to me, only for a few hundred bucks. We've even made amends and had coffee a few times. Thank you Ransom, for saving my life."

"Ransom is ingenious, innovative, and invaluable. I anticipate it coming in handy if the four razor scooters with our names on them are given to the wrong team Sunday morning."
